As the cool breeze of fall settles in, there’s nothing quite like cozying up with a warm, spiced treat that embodies the flavors of the season. These pumpkin fritters are the perfect indulgence—crispy on the outside, soft and fluffy on the inside, with a hint of cinnamon and nutmeg that brings out the natural sweetness of pumpkin. Whether you're serving them with a drizzle of maple syrup, dusting of powdered sugar, or dipping them in your favorite sauce, these fritters are sure to be a hit at any fall gathering. Simple to make and irresistibly delicious, they’re a delightful way to celebrate pumpkin season.
Ingredients:
1 cup pumpkin puree
1 cup flour
1/4 cup milk
1 tablespoon vanilla
2 tablespoons powdered sugar
2 teaspoons baking powder
2 teaspoons pumpkin spice
1 large egg
Pinch of salt
Directions:
In a large bowl, combine all the ingredients and mix well until you have a smooth, even batter.
Deep Frying Method:
Heat a deep fryer or a large pot of oil to 375°F (190°C). You’ll need enough oil to submerge the fritters completely.
Drop spoonfuls of batter into the hot oil, frying for about 2-3 minutes. Turn them halfway through to ensure they are golden and crispy on all sides.
Remove the fritters using a slotted spoon and place them on a paper towel to drain any excess oil.
Pan-Fried (Pancake Style) Method:
If you prefer a lighter option, lightly oil a skillet and heat over medium heat.
Spoon the batter into the skillet, flattening it slightly to form round cakes.
Cook for 1-2 minutes on each side, flipping when golden. This method will give you a flatter, pancake-like fritter, but still just as delicious!
Serving: Dust with powdered sugar or drizzle with maple syrup. For an extra indulgent touch, serve with a side of whipped cream or your favorite dipping sauce.
